300 Swimmers Wow!

Last Friday the elementary grades from 2-5 participated in the first annual swim

Each student was required to swim at least one of the 4 swimming strokes, freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly.

The organizing team of Paul Brodie, Debby Hastings, Scott MacDonough, Zul Darus, and Richard Hastings sought to have an event that would increase school spirit and increase participation in the sport of swimming.

There were approximately 110 races in which the first three places were given ribbons.

All participants in grades 2-3 also received participation ribbons if they were not among the top three in their races.

We were all pleasantly surprised how many students chose the most difficult stroke, the butterfly, and how well they performed.

It was a remarkable day that saw nearly 40 parents come out to volunteer. We love you parents. Couldn’t do it without you.
